UMass Amherst Science Olympiad (August 2022 - Present)

At UMass, I co-founded the Science Olympiad organization that holds an annual science tournament on-campus for hundreds of high schoolers. This tournament can be thought of as similarly to a track meet, but for various STEM topics instead, such as hovercraft engineering and astronomy.

To bring the STEM-passionate students closer to the science they love, we work to engage competitors with currently on-going research being done at UMass through presentations and lab tours. We engage the wider UMass community through these efforts, giving UMass students a change to discuss their research.

We additionally run outreach lessons at local high schools to introduce students to topics that that are not traditionally taught. These lessons include topics such as chemical forensics and biochemistry.

UMass Society of Physics Students (September 2021 - Present)

I join the Society of Physics Students (SPS) at UMass as the treasurer in my freshman year. As the treasurer, I wrote budgets, purchased materials for meetings and events, and worked to plan and execute events for the wider physics student community such as research symposiums and liquid nitrogen ice cream nights, such as the one shown on the right.
